Greetings,
have been reading this list for only a few months now so if
this has been discussed before please excuse me. I am
curious as to what software high traffic sites use to manage
and serve banners. I run a site that averages only 5000
visitors daily and average serving 250K banner impressions
each month. I use a cheap perl based program called
WebAdverts to manage and serve my banners. I have found
that during high traffic times banners are not being
processed to the pages. I estiate that I probably loose
2-3% of impressions because of this. I imagine that is
because multiple pages are trying to serve the same banner
at the same time. In the next few months I plan on running
some national magazine advertising for my website that could
possibly double my traffic. I do not want my source of
income to be the weak link during a flood of traffic. What
do you guys use?
