RE: Looking for conference topics

I'm responding to Jennifer MacInnis' request for suggestions
on topics for an Internet Marketing conference she is
thinking about holding. Talk to the people at the Zeff
Group in Arlington, Va. (www.zeff.com) - they are
specialists in online advertising, marketing and research.
The president of the company is Robinn Zeff and she has
co-authored an excellent book (Advertising on the Internet)
which would also be a great resource (you can buy it
online). The people at the Zeff Group are very nice and
would probably be able to give you some excellent topic
suggestions. They also run an advertising on the Internet
seminar which I attended recently so they have quite a bit
of "hands-on" experience in this area.
As for myself, one of the most important topics I'd like to
see covered would be how to create a marketing plan for a
new site. There doesn't seem to be any "standard" and if
you ask 10 people that question, you'd get ten (usually
pretty good) answers because everyone speaks from their own
experiences. Maybe something definitive on how to create a
sensible Internet marketing plan, like "Ten Easy Steps to
Market your New Web Site". (Tongue in cheek, folks - can it
be done in 10 steps?) Second to that would be how to sell
advertising on a NEW site. We've talked about this often in
this forum, so I think there's a lot of interest there.
Then, of course, there's pricing. Yikes! Lots of confusion
about this topic, so conference attendees would probably
want some professional guidance on this subject, both from
the ad sellers and buyers perspective.
If you decide to hold the conference, be sure to let the
group know, maybe some of us will be able to attend!
Regards to all -
