In response to Mathew Da Silva's reluctance to have
advertisements in games which are designed for enjoyment;
Surely this is an already accepted approach, look at all the
billboards at a rugby stadium or ball game and all the PA
advertising. Couple this with the live transmission of
almost any entertaining event eg. Rosebowl, World Cup
Cricket, Formula one, Masters etc. , which is full of
adverts. In keeping with the established norm advertisers
are looking at following the communication thread along
it's technical expansion line and applying basic marketing
principles to reach target audience. Keeping in mind that
the Facets of communication are growing exponentially and
that technology has a price, then this is an evergreen and
dynamic area that will continue to react to common market
forces, ie. Technology or mediums are developed, used and
paid for by the market which in turn creates a demand for
better , bigger and more innovative technology in a
continual spiral.
