Re: appraising your web site
I wrote an article on buying selling websites a while back

My conclusion was the same as Mark Welch regarding
valuation. We need a "webology" and not a "guessology".
Valuation is skill. There are college courses in it. I
looked at valuation message boards a while back and they
were still scratching their heads over web valuation. There
are a whole load of issues when you start to look at it.
Get a book on valuation. You need a minimum negotiation base
line. Anything over that is gravy.
There are a growing number of sites that have income
exceeding expenditure and mathematically these numbers
matter in the long run. My guess is that the buying and
selling of these "profitable" sites will be the next big
thing on the net as stock rich IPO's scramble to increase
revenue. Get your negotiating hats on.
