In response and agreement with James Carlini's recent post,
I'd like to add that there are so many factors affecting
each country that you plan to sell within. This may
include pictures that you use on your site - are they
culturally sensitive? Many colors can also be offensive in
certain cultures. Humor and idioms are also items which do
not translate well in other languages. We work with
different companies who also send their products out to us
before marketing to go through a cultural analysis and to
prevent marketing errors ....and so many have been made.
Our monthly newsletter at www.languagesolutions.net deals
with these Localization Issues as applied in the print
format but can very easily apply to the web.
