I totally concur with the above, but would like to go one
step further:

Recognizing the value of a URL (for its branding power
alone) is also an extremely good way of creating new
business. I personally own several URL's for which I could
not, by myself, devote full time. However, with the proper
partner, you bet I would be able to contribute my URL and
whatever work-product I could.

As it happens, the people who are most qualified and
interested in those URL's turn out to be the ones who track
me down to do those businesses. Talk about a great
screening tool!

I have two deals in proposal stage currently, neither of
which could have happened had I not bought the URL's in the
first place.
