Have you thought about outsourcing? The newsletter could be
handled by Link Exchange's ListBot or Lyris. I believe a
previous post contained sites that handled affiliate
programs.

ListBot charges $100 per year for 5000 messages per month.
Lyris charges $5 per thousand messages with a minimum of
$100/month. My 2000-member mailing list is with ListBot.

Internet Billing Company is handling my Affiliate Program
for free since they act as my credit card merchant. I'm
almost done with a week's worth of ASP programming needed to
set that up on my site (assigning cookies and database
tracking) and it's pretty sophisticated and transparent to
the user. I could have done it the easy (i.e., cheaper) way
in a few days.

Of course if the bulk of that $20G is going towards a SQL
database on a UNIX platform, then you're on your own...
