Laura,

I don't think Joyce-Ann intended to insult somebody, nor
David Ogilvy did.

I think what they meant was not that wives are morons.
You're missing the point here. I believe the point is that
you can't treat the consumer as a moron, but rather nurish
the relationship so the "marriage" would work.

Well, English is not my native language, so I may be wrong,
but I think I'm not. At least not in this case.
