Can't speak for Search Engine submission companies, but
we've maintained a top 20 listing 73.8 percent of the time
(over 52% in the top 10,) across twenty-one Search Engines,
by paying close attention to how the SE uses their
algorithms and making sure our pages are SE friendly before
submitting them - it's tough to climb into the top fifty
from rank # 203,452.
We also watch which SE's use other SE's database for
returns.
Proof is at http://209.57.80.48/se/aol.htm
Point is, do you want to trust your SE submissions to
companies that work off volume rather than quality? How many
submissions must be made at $29.95 each to make it
worthwhile for the submission company to be in business? To
do it right, you'd have to be charged a few thousand -
minimum.
There are a number of tips, many may be found at
http://www.searchenginewatch.com which is an excellent site
published by Danny Sullivan.
