Doreen,

There are two distinct issues here:

1.) How often (and what proportion of your site) should you
submit? Each search engine has a different set of standards.
Excite has a 25 page per week limit and MSN wants only one
page per day - for instance. For a complete overview of
search engine submissions try search engine watch:
www.searchenginewatch.com.

In the meantime, you should STOP submitting until you
understand the process; as submissions outside of the
accepted guidelines will not count (or could be counted
against you).

2.) When can you expect to see results (and what will they
be)? You can submit until you're blue in the face and see no
ranking under the keywords and phrases that best describe
your product and service offerings if you have failed to
build a one-to-one relationship between the content of your
pages and the code that describes those pages to the search
engines.

If you have not, and it sounds like you haven't, seen any
results after submitting for a few months, then there is
probably a larger problem with your pages' ability to be
ranked. You will need to learn about what search engines
WANT from the pages that are submitted to them - not just
how to submit. SEW listed above can serve you there as well.
Good Luck!

Sincerely,

Chris Myers
