Do you have an example of a page?

SSI includes are done on the server and by the time the
page is delivered to the browser there is no hint that
the source of the page came from SSI. Therefore, the
search engine takes the full page.

This is if I'm following you.

For example, http://www.fansites.com/index.html has the
following line in the source on the server:

<!--#include file="tease.txt"-->

But when you view the source of the page through a
browser you don't see the above line, you see this:

<b>Top Entertainment Headlines for Monday</b><br><br>
100 Most Memorable Movie Stars<br> Metallica To Preview
Entire Album Online<br> Small town opera company may
soon close doors<br>

And that's what the search engine sees.
