First off I want to say thanks for providing this service as
it has provided a lot of valuable information that I can
apply to my work on a daily basis. I would like to pose a
question related the this issue of the 15% agency
commission. I agree that "greedy opportunist" is quite a
harsh term to be used in this scenario. My question is why
does the seller have to incur the 15% commission rather than
the buyer. I have sold TV and internet and realize why
people have agencies and with the currently scenario, I can
not see why anyone would not. In essence they are a getting
a 15% discount from the seller. I know many agencies are
moving more toward a fee based pay structure and get paid
for the time they spend working on the account and many do
this in conjunction with the 15% discount. I know Proctor &
Gamble has gone toward a performance based payment putting
the onus on the agency to yield results for the client.
When $1000 worth of advertising is sold, why does the seller
only get $850 and the agency gets $150? Does this appear to
anyone else besides myself, that the seller is paying for
the agency work?

Thanks for your help.
Jeremy
