That's too general. I do believe they produce fine if
embedded in content and related to the content. On a
good demographic match they do quite well. If run in
general rotation as "top and bottom banners" then
probably your assessment is correct. We have had
trememdous success with clients using buttons. But in
all cases the niche sites we operate were an excellent
match to the advertiser's offer.
