Estimating ad revenue potential
Is there anyone who can provide some advice or places
to look on the web (or otherwise) for some general
information about rates for banner advertising at
various user levels? I operate a small marketing
consulting firm for start-up companies. Although I
have experience in writing marketing plans for a
variety of types of start-ups, I am new to the world of
start-up "dot.com" companies, and I am now working with
several new companies whose primary businesses are
web-based. I am looking for some help in identifying
resources and information on estimating the potential
income for these businesses, who are looking to
advertising as their primary revenue-generating stream.
Here is an example: One site I am working with today
has only 400,000 hits a month now (200,000 unique
visitors a month and 1 million page views) and is
projecting about 30% growth a month over the next year
or so. Any ideas of how to approach this? I apologize
if this is too basic for many of the users of this
site. I have been researching this for quite awhile
and cannot seem to find any comprehensive information
that will allow me to make some sound assumptions about
the sales potential for these businesses. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
