Large versus smaller PR firms

I work for an Internet start-up that has been do our
own PR, but we are now looking to bring on a firm for
assistance. I have received lots of mixed reactions
regarding whether or not to go with a larger or smaller
PR firm. We are looking for a PR firm to build the
brand, generate a buzz around what we are offering,
etc. Since we are an Internet-based firm, I am
interested in a firm that has experience working with
and promoting .com companies.

I am currently "pitching" PR firms to get them
interested in working with us, but I was hoping to get
some questions answered in the process:
    - What is so special about a larger PR firm?
    - Do clients get more attention and devotion from
      smaller firms?
    - Is the price of working with a larger PR firm
      worth it?
    - Can smaller firms deliver the same offerings as a
      larger firm?
    - Do larger firms have a better chance of getting
      the word out?
    - Are the additional resources some larger PR firms
      tout worth the cost?
    - Do smaller firms have the same amount of
resources to devote to their clients?

Thanks in advance.
