Email Marketing

Our ad agency has been getting up to speed on email
marketing in order to provide this service to our
clients. I've contacted a number of email marketing
vendors (the companies that manage the database, send
the messages, track & report) and I'm finding out that
our volumes (6,000 - 30,000 names, depending on the
client) put us into the "too small a fish to fry"
category with most of these vendors.

I've looked at Lsoft, which would allow us to manage
email marketing campaigns in-house (which we don't
really want to do). Does anyone have any suggestions
for vendors willing to work with smaller fish like us?
Or other software to look at in case we do take this
in-house? Any other thoughts/advice are welcome too.
