How would you figure out what the surfer's locale is?
I mean I would love to know that. We have that problem
with out site now. For instance we use WebTrends for
site stats and it tells me that the majority of my
shopper come from VA. Now, I know that is not true. I
can look at shipping and billing addresses and tell you
it is not true.
Why does WebTrends think it is true, because the
majority of my shoppers use AOL and AOL is located in
VA.
So, if I am an AOL subscriber in California I am not
interested in ads for a store in VA.
If someone can tell me a way to get real demographic
information from a surfer (who hasn't filled anything
out) I would love it.
You said you spoke to your technical people so I am
assuming there is something I am missing here, because
your techical people should know this.
