B2B search engine use

There are enough numbers and stats about search engine
use. But, does anyone know of trends or survey results
about how often business-to-business companies use
search engines? For example, if an architect wants
information about glass for a particular project, will
he/she use a search engine? Unlike consumers, I would
think that the architect, like most businesses, know
who the glass suppliers are. Therefore, submitting to
search engines and being listed in the top 10 is not as
important for business-to-business. Right??? Any
thoughts?
