Subject: rotating banners
Anybody know how sites get banner ads to circulate to different pages of
the same web site or rotate their placement in a single location?

Subject: Web Analysis Software
Make way for the newbie! I'm new media researcher for CIA Interactive
Ltd in the UK and have had the unenviable task of trying to work out
what's going on in terms of advertising on the Net. I can't tell you
what a
little gold mine this digest has turned out to be (many thanks Kevin).
I've taken a close look at some of the more popular Web analysis
software and came across a package called 'Interse market focus' - I've
checked out their Web site but can find no mention of them in the press.
If anyone knows anything about the software, like who's using it and how
it ranks against other packages, I would be very grateful.
Thanks for your time.

I believe clickthrough rates are expressed as a ratio:
# of times a banner is clicked/ # of times page is viewed = clickthrough
rate.
The Linkexchange (I'm not affiliated with them) have indicated that an
average clickthrough rate runs between 75:1 to 250:1. In other words,
out of every 75 to 250 visitors to an ad-bearing page, one person will
click the banner.
Are your advertisers paying for the number of times that their ad is
clicked on?
